HARRIS COUNTY -

A Harris County woman has filed a lawsuit against a pharmacy after her 6-year-old daughter died of a morphine overdose.

According to the girl’s mother, Simone Allen, a doctor from Texas Children’s Hospital prescribed a 15 mg dose of morphine for her daughter back in March.

When the prescription was filled, the lawsuit alleges Cullen Care Pharmacy dispensed a 150 mg dose, which was ten times the prescribed dose.

"She was happy. She loved playing with her friends, her family, her sisters and brothers,” said Simone Allen. “She was just a happy little girl. She was perfect to me. Everything about her was just perfect, she could do no wrong."

Allen is now seeking monetary damages for pain and suffering.
