What went wrong?' Brad Pitt playfully roasts Rihanna with awkward introduction at her Diamond Ball charity gala

0

He was bestowed with the honour of introducing Rihanna at her first annual Diamond Ball charity gala.

So instead of plying her with compliments, Brad Pitt made his speech really memorable by poking fun of the singer with an awkward 'intervention.'

The 50-year-old rattled off a series of tongue-in-cheek jabs that took RiRi to task for her 'disappointing' resume in hopes of helping 'this young lady find direction and purpose.'

Having a laugh: While at the Diamond Ball on Thursday, Brad Pitt introduced Rihanna with an awkward speech that jokingly mocked her accomplishments

Brad started out the introduction by flashing a childhood photo of Rihanna in Barbados and then began mocking the pop diva's rise in the music business.

'I've often asked the very questions you yourself are asking right now—what the f*** went wrong?,' the Fury star said.

'It's not a pretty story. Like so many others, Rihanna landed on the unforgiving streets of New York at the young age of 16, and soon fell in with a bad crowd, a bad crowd led by the dubious nefarious character known as the Jay Z

'For those of you not in the know, the Jay Z was an evil impresario known for churning out hit records, and ripping insane lyrics and fresh beats. '

She was in on it: The talented singer took the tongue-in-cheek jabs all in stride and came out to perform a medley of her hits dressed in a gorgeous navy Zac Posen gown and sparkling diamond necklace

Family affair: The Pour It Up singer's proud parents turned up to lend their support

The handsome Oscar winner continued his faux disdain by listing off a laundry list of her stellar accomplishments but with a sarcastic tone.

'Since turning the ripe age of 26, Rihanna sadly has had only 13 number one singles, only 54 million albums sold, only seven Grammys, 11 Billboard Awards,' he said.

Then taking aim at her various endeavors, Brad continued: 'Her resume's even more disappointing: executive producer, fashion designer, actress, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and uh, something else… and uh, she sometimes sings.'

He then pleaded with the crowd to help intervene in order to get her back on the right track.

Philanthropy: The gala was in support of The Clara Lionel Foundation, a philanthropic organization, which was founded in 2012 by the singer in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite

'I ask that we stand together by her side and show her our support and our love and say to her the hard words, "Rihanna, put down that sandwich, get off your ass, and do something. Goddamn it, just do something with your life.'"

Rihanna took the joke all in stride and came out to perform a medley of her hits dressed in a gorgeous navy Zac Posen gown and sparkling diamond necklace.

The gala was in support of The Clara Lionel Foundation, a philanthropic organization, which was founded in 2012 by the singer in honor of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite.

According to the foundation, its mission is to 'promote initiatives of health, education, arts and culture on a global scale'.

Ray J 'frantically called 911 after girlfriend Princess Love threatened to commit suicide' ... a day after their break up

1

Ray J 'frantically called 911' on Wednesday after his girlfriend Princess Love threatened to kill herself.

According to TMZ, the budding fashion designer made the threat a day after Ray J broke off their relationship.

'She was incessantly texting him after he left for work today, and when she didn't hear what she wanted from him she threatened suicide,' the website reports.

The ex-boyfriend of Kim Kardashian apparently took her threat seriously as he 'knew there was a gun in the house.'

Ray J apparently informed the 911 dispatcher that his girlfriend's threat came days after his friend Earl Hayes seemingly committed a murder-suicide, thus putting him on 'high alert.'

Police immediately paid a visit to Princess's home but she was not there.

However, Ray J has since informed the website that he has spoken to his former girlfriend and she has reassured him that 'she will not go through with her threat.'

Ray made no official comment on the matter, but posted a snapshot of he and his entourage praying before filming commenced on his new reality show on Wednesday.

'Morning prayer with my whole team! #LMNO and #WeTV -stay tuned- it's a lot different from #LHHH #PositiveLove,' he wrote.

Ray - real name William Ray Norwood Jr  - and his Love & Hop Hop Hollywood star girlfriend have had something of a fractious relationship of late.

After splitting at the beginning of October, they fought over custody of over their tiny Maltese pooch Boogotti but appear to have got back together.

Ray, of course, is best known for his relationship with Kim Kardashian during which they filmed their notorious infamous sex tape which was leaked in 2007.

A host of famous female faces took to the red carpet on Wednesday for The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women In Entertainment breakfast.

The newly blonde 30-year-old reality star showed a flash of her midriff in a soft grey cropped jumper and figure-hugging powder pink pencil skirt.

She donned transparent stiletto pumps with rose gold toe caps and accessorised with a metallic quilted clutch bag.

Khloe's highlighted brown tresses were styled in a centre parting and with layers that framed her face in feminine flicks.

Accompanying the youngest Kardashian star was mother Kris Jenner, 59, who sported a preppy black dress with white peter pan collar and sleeves over opaque tights.

The high-profile event attracted some of the most influential women in entertainment including actress Patricia Arquette, Grey's Anatomy producer Shonda Rhimes and Melissa Rivers.

Shonda, 44, sits at number 14 on the power list for her screenwriting and directing credits as well as producing ABC's Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder.

The mother-of-two opted for a simple black dress and matching bag for the occasion and sported glamourous curls in her shoulder length locks.

How many clothes does one woman need? A week in the wardrobe of Lady Gaga, who has up to FIVE outfit changes a day

0

See for yourself BELOW.

Lady Gaga is known for her love of outlandish fashion and her outfits never fail to grab headlines.

But the eccentric fashionista went one step further this week with a staggering 16 outfit changes.

The 28-year-old changed up to five times each day as she promoted her new album with Tony Bennett.

But how many clothes can one woman need?

With an album with Tony Bennett and H&M collaboration to promote, the queen of pop has been keen to turn heads at every opportunity.

She put her fashion phonebook to good use yesterday as she stepped out in a number of outfits throughout the day while in New York.

At one point, the limelight-seeking singer, who is dating actor Taylor Kinney, showed off her curves in a plunging off the shoulder red gown adorned with sequins.

It came after an earlier outing in a peach vest and black skirt. Prior to that, she was pictured in a blue ribbed retro jumpsuit, and then a fur trimmed coat.

The singer teamed her ensemble with retro-style sunglasses with her hair in a high bun and a thick fringe which was later slicked back when she pulled on her evening dresses.

The day before, the pop star stepped out in not one but four different outfits for TV appearances to promote her new album of jazz classics, before changing for a fifth time to perform on stage with Bennett.

Her outfits got more eye-catching by the minute, as she stepped out in a blue suede coat, a plunging red leather jumpsuit, a tight white dress and a taupe suit.

On stage at the Rockefeller Centre she transformed into an ice princess with a white low cut gown and furry snow coloured hat.

She also showed off her collection of accessories throughout the day wearing a selection of different hats, sunglasses and a black handbag.

Busty bombshell Lady Gaga channels Jessica Rabbit in curve-hugging red sequinned gown

0

She has said she’s been influenced by Madonna, Grace Jones, Cyndi Lauper and David Bowie.

Now she can add Jessica Rabbit to that list.

Lady Gaga appeared to be channeling the sexpot cartoon character from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? on Thursday in New York City during a flirty posing session for the paparazzi on the way to the Bloomberg Businessweek Dinner.

The 28-year-old wore a plunging red sequin Brandon V Maxwell dress that had a sweetheart neckline that revealed a generous amount of her cleavage. The sparkly number’s off-the-shoulder sleeves and low-cut back revealed the singer’s tattoos.

Her usually blonde locks were raven and tied in a bun.

She accessorized the look with a pair of stunning diamond earrings, and had her lips and nails the same dramatic color as her outfit.

Her eyeliner was strikingly contoured around her seemingly infinitely long eyelashes.

For the singer who aptly titled her 2009 album The Fame Monster, those words couldn't ring more true.

The eye catching display of her figure will certainly help her as she's on a promotional blitz for her new jazz album Cheek To Cheek with Tony Bennett and collaboration for H&M.

On Wednesday night the outrageous pop star performed with Tony Bennett at Rockefeller Centre, NY, in a stunning white gown that was cut to the navel.

Earlier in the week she continued playing up for the cameras with a whopping 16 outfit changings.

Rihanna ops for comfort over style in a tracksuit and cosy coat as she jets back to NYC after a whistlestop trip to London

0

She enjoyed a jam-packed whistle-stop visit to London to attend the British Fashion Awards on Monday evening, followed by lunch with her new BFF Naomi Campbell the following day.

But less than 48 hours after arriving in the city, Rihanna was jetting back to New York once again.

Arriving in the Big Apple on Tuesday night after her transatlantic flight, the 26-year-old singer sensibly opted for comfort over style as she bundled up in a loose-fitting tracksuit and cosy coat.

Ensuring she wasn't restricted by her usual form-fitting attire, the We Found Love hitmaker rocked a low-key black zip-through two-piece and an oversized navy wool coat as she breezed through the arrivals terminal at JFK Airport.

Bracing herself against the chilly winter weather, Rihanna carried a grey blanket in her black leather tote bag.

The star completed her look with a pair of black horse hair-look boots.

The Bajan beauty wore her raven locks scraped back off her face into a tight bun, and opted for minimal make-up for the flight.

But in true A-list style, the pop princess made sure to inject a touch of A-list glamour with a pair of sassy sunglasses.

Rihanna enjoyed a whirlwind day in London, which saw her present a prize at the British Fashion Awards on Monday night, before dining with new bestie Naomi Campbell on Tuesday lunchtime as they grabbed a bite to eat at Hakkasan.

Rihanna and Naomi seemed like they'd been friends forever when they fawned over each other at the fashion bash on Monday.

From the swanky ceremony at The London Collosium to the star-studded after party at The Oscar Wilde Bar, the pair couldn't seem to separate themselves.

Rihanna jetted in to Heathrow airport on Monday and appeared to be making a bit of a week of it, staying late partying at the BFAs the same night.

The saucy singer hadn't been too concerned about beating the cold on Monday night when she arrived at the British Fashion Awards in just a tuxedo jacket.

Rihanna looked sexy in a one-button jacket dress that revealed her braless physique and her long legs in just thin tights.

She later changed into a low-cut dress, which she proceeded to put to her advantage when she grinded on one man on the after party dance floor.

Rihanna was on hand at the bash to present the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator to Edward Enninful alongside supermodel Naomi.
